Cardinals still have 2020 5th-round pick after supplemental draft

Packers showing heavy interest in supplemental draft S Jalen Thompson

Rosenbach did not declare for the NFL Draft before its deadline and thus joined a pool of five players who were taken in the 1989 Supplemental Draft. In a unit that has depth but not top-end talent, it didn't make sense to add a guy like Simms to the roster via the draft, but perhaps they could bring him aboard as an undrafted free agent and groom him for a practice squad spot. To me, Thompson is worth a serious look with a third round pick, while Simms isn't worth more than a sixth round pick at best.

It has been over 20 years since the Green Bay Packers have made a selection in the NFL's Supplemental Draft and despite showing interest in a few of the eligible prospects this year, the organization chose to pass once again. The Panthers have never selected a player in the Supplemental Draft and this probably isn't the year that changes. A team that is awarded a player loses the corresponding draft pick the following year.

Netflix Is Adapting Cuphead Into a New Animated Series
Cuphead , with its lovely hand-drawn visuals, is one of the few games out there that lends perfectly to an animated adaptation. The news was announced via a tweet from game developer Studio MDHR , as well as an article from The Hollywood Reporter .

Thompson and Simms are expected to be drafted, with Thompson mocked in the 3rd-5th round and Simms in the 5th-7th. He also has some baggage after getting charged with two DUIs and admitting to using marijuana. Thompson is an extremely interesting prospect in the supplemental draft who is getting a lot of attention. Another player Green Bay showed interest in was West Virginia wide receiver Marcus Simms. The Raiders could be interested despite the red flags. A lottery determines the draft order within each group and teams with worse records have a greater chance of drawing a higher pick. By bidding on a fifth-round pick for the WSU safety, the Cardinals now forfeit a fifth-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Arizona Cardinals selected Washington State safety Jalen Thompson in the fifth round of the National Football League supplemental draft Wednesday.

Last week, I wrote that Thompson was worthy of a Round 2 or Round 3 pick, and while that was strictly based on his film, his off-field issues don't appear to be hugely concerning, as it was reported he took an over-the-counter supplement banned by the NCAA, which led to him losing his final year of college eligibility in 2020.
