Chance The Rapper's sudden withdrawal from Splendour In The Grass has pissed off his Australian fans.

This news left Splendour organisers with minimal time to find a replacement, but, luckily enough, Hilltop Hoods have stepped up to the occasion.

For argument's sake, Chance The Rapper's fans on the Eastern perimeter of Australia are within their right to be displeased with having their concert tickets annulled on less than 24-hours notice.

I just thought I should ride my own pace rather than follow them and blow up on the steepest bit at the end", Thomas added. I just did everything that I can and I want to enjoy it.

In a statement to the festival, the rapper announced that he was unable to appear due to an illness preventing him from being able to fly.

Refunds are being made available for punters with Sunday single day tickets only, and will be available to be applied for until 9am on Sunday July 21st only (tomorrow). "Splendour wishes Chance a speedy recovery", is the official response.

Earlier this month he was spotted at the Lion King world premiere with wife Kirsten Corley and daughter Kensli Bennett but he cancelled a string of performances last month, blaming scheduling conflicts.
