Barcelona confirmed the signing on their official website on Birmingham born striker who has dual English and Northern Irish nationality and is considered one of the best young players in English football as he was unveiled by the Catalan outfit.

Louie Barry, 16, is an English striker who has been on the radar of most European sides for a couple of years now.

British media had reported that Barry had undergone a medical with French Ligue 1 champions PSG before FC Barcelona stepped in at the last minute.

"Next season he will be part of Barca's U19 squad".

However, he has had just one full season in management and is yet to answer certain question about his coaching ability. Games against Red Bull Salzburg and Reading follow, finishing up with a clash with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Barry is a U16 global for England and has scored seven goals in his nine appearances.

West Brom are yet to confirm Barry's departure.

The 16-year-old turned down a professional contract with the Midlands club and was also on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain. He has penned a three-year deal with La Blaugrana after starring for the Republic of Ireland Under-16s, for whom he netted a brace last September against Bulgaria.

Ex-West Brom teammate Marvin Rodgers has joined Manchester City, while Liverpool have edged out Europe's elite in their bid to sign Fulham's Harvey Elliott.
