Meet the Sony SEL35F18F, an FE 35 mm f/1.8 lens that costs US$750 (£630)

Sony has officially announced the much-anticipated and long-rumored FE 35mm f/1.8 lens for its full-frame mirrorless cameras. It's a compact, midpriced f1.8 option optimized for both still and video shooting and created to be a high-end choice for APS-C cameras as well as full-frame models. Meanwhile, those looking for a fast Sony prime lens without breaking the bank had minimal offerings, until now, as they offered only f/1.8 lenses in 55mm and 85mm flavors.

That's not affordable - it costs about the same as Zeiss' 35mm f2.8 or Sigma's 35mm f1.4, now that the price of the latter has dropped.

The compact size and light weight of the full-frame 35mm prime makes it a good candidate for street photography or just when you want to travel light but still like having an f1.8 fast prime.

West Indies great Walsh joined the team in August 2016 and former India spinner Joshi in August 2017. Bangladesh finished eighth in the 10-team group stage with three wins from their nine matches.

Built around 11 elements spread across 9 groups, the lens includes a single aspherical element to help combat spherical aberration and distortion. The 9-bladed aperture, meanwhile, combined with the bright f/1.8 maximum, create smooth bokeh and excellent subject isolation. And when it comes to manual focus, Sony says the lens has a linear response MF design, which should provide increased responsiveness and precision for manual focusing, despite the electrical focus-by-wire design. The SEL35F18F has an equivalent focal length of 52.5 mm along with a minimum focus distance of 22 cm (0.73 ft). But it does have metal construction, is dust-and-moisture resistant and focuses internally.

Conveniently placed customizable focus hold button and a focus mode switch for instantaneous switching between auto and manual focus.
