'Game of Thrones' prequel series: Will Starks and Lannisters Appear?

Martin said the series will center on an unconstructed era of a divided land: "We talk about the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros; there were Seven Kingdoms at the time of Aegon's Conquest".

George R.R. Martin's preferred title for the Game of Thrones prequel was The Long Night, but that was before "The Long Night" episode of the original series. The Seven Kingdoms maintained some degree of order (at least, until war broke out). "The Starks will definitely be there", Martin reminds us. So it sounds like Westeros could be even more unsafe and chaotic and lawless than it is in GoT - like Wild West Westeros. While fans of Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book series were excited to see the close companionship between direwolves and the Starks in HBO's TV adaptation, the show never really got it right.

House Lannister wasn't established at this time, which means the Lannister family does not occupy Casterly Rock. The infamous White Walkers remain a threat, and other creatures, including Direwolves and mammoths, will be featured. But there is another family now residing in the future Lannister homestead.

This makes sense for anyone who has ever paid attention to Game of Thrones history, as the Starks were descended from the First Men, who ruled Westeros for thousands of years and kept control of the North even after the Andals invaded from Essos.

Additionally, while the Starks will appear, the Lannister family doesn't yet exist in this particular point in time. "I hesitate to use the word 'lead, '" Martin says. "What I'm not doing is working backwards by saying, 'This has to be on the air by this date.' We want to do the best show possible".

Tyson Fury says rematch against Deontay Wilder is set for February 22
Speaking at a Q&A event at Bradford's Alhambra Theatre Fury disclosed the details: February second in Las Vegas. And they will now go head-to-head once again early next year.

The prequel remains without an official title for now. "We don't have leads so much as a large ensemble cast".

The EW report lists five new details about the Game of Thrones prequel starring Naomi Watts (Birdman). While nothing is set in stone, Martin is lobbying for The Long Night.

The last revelation? Martin shared that while the prequel series still doesn't have a name, he's still partial to "The Long Night".

On the potential title for the prequel, Martin added that the series could be titled "The Longest Night", a slight variation on his own suggestion of "The Long Night".

While Martin has many projects in the works, including the prequel pilot, he notes he's now only writing one thing: The sixth Ice and Fire novel The Winds of Winter.
