A British soldiers are seen during an operation involving the oil supertanker Grace 1 that's on suspicion of carrying Iranian crude oil to Syria in waters off the British overseas territory of Gibraltar historically claimed by Spain

The Iranian tanker Grace 1 was stopped by Gibraltar authorities with the assistance of Royal Marines on suspicion of carrying around two million barrels of oil to a refinery in Syria, which is under European Union sanctions.

London claims that the tanker had been carrying Iranian oil to Syria, which is under European Union's sanctions but Iran says first, the tanker was not headed to Syria, and second, Iran is not a member an EU member and also not subject to any European oil embargo.

Senior Iranian politicians have threatened to retaliate by seizing a British tanker.

Britain, Germany, France, Russia, China and Iran are the remaining parties to the deal, which the United States abandoned a year ago.

She said Iran's "misbehavior" should "not be rewarded".

"Now you are so hopeless that, when one of your tankers wants to move in the region, you have to bring your frigates [to escort it] because you are scared".

On Tuesday, the league announced it will implement a Coach's Challenge system similar to the NFL's on a one-year trial basis. National Basketball Association free agency ruled the Fourth of July holiday, with several major names changing teams.

Calling the tanker's seizure an act of maritime piracy, Brigadier-General Amir Hatami said it "will not be tolerated by us and will not go without a response".

Rouhani, however, after meeting with Bonne said "Iran has fully left the path open for diplomacy and negotiation".

The tanker remained stationary for a day until it was caught up to by the HMS Montrose and thereafter started moving towards the strait.

Ali Shamkhani, a senior Iranian security official, told a French envoy Wednesday that the decision to increase enrichment is an "unchangeable strategy" and criticized European countries for their "lack of will" in providing relief from the USA sanctions, according to the official IRNA news agency.

They reached crisis-point earlier this year when several tankers in the Strait were damaged by explosions - which the United Kingdom and U.S. blamed on Iran - and Iran shot down a USA drone. In recent weeks, Iran has begun to openly breach limits on uranium enrichment set by the deal in order to pressure European signatories to salvage it.

Bonnes" mission is "to try and open the discussion space to avoid an uncontrolled escalation, or even an accident, ' according to French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian. In the deal with world powers negotiated by the Obama administration, Iran had agreed to curb its nuclear activities in return for sanctions relief.
