The 29-year-old missed the French Open and the Birmingham Classic due to the problem but has stormed into the last 16 at Wimbledon for the first time since her 2014 triumph and faces local favourite Johanna Konta on Monday.

Konta showed character and determination to come from a set behind to defeat Kvitova 4-6 6-2 6-4 in impressive fashion.

The first set was fast and fluid, with Stephens who held without break points in the entire set, taking it with a break in game eight for a 6-3. I know since coming back from that awful thing that happened with her, I mean, she's playing unbelievable tennis.

"Yeah, definitely I played the best tennis today", Kvitova said after thumping Poland's Magda Linette 6-3 6-2 on Saturday.

"Of course there was a little bit [of nerves] but I definitely didn't put it down to me being nervous".

"I was just keeping an open mind", Konta said, "trying to find a way, trying to give her different looks, try to give her different balls, just to try to get her out of her zone, because she was very much in it for a big portion of the match, especially in the first, then a big part of the second". However, the two players were meeting on a grass court for the first time their career. "Pretty much the whole second". In the third round, she bumped into a big player as she took on Sloane Stephens.

Information Commissioner's Office plans £99m Marriott fine
The fine is a result of a data breach which was exposed in 2018 that saw 339m guests' having had their personal details leaked. Marriott said the Starwood data system targeted in the attack was "no longer used for business operations".

"The more opportunities I get to be in the latter stages of grand slams, the more experience I gain", she said.

"Experience can only bring good things".

"I've never been able to do that before". As a positive thought for Konta, the one win that she took in this head to head series was on grass, at Eastbourne in 2016. "It can only help with managing different things, different situations that come up at this point of the tournament".

Speaking after the Linette victory, Kvitova admitted that the muscle still tended to tighten up in practice and added: "I'm always anxious about the scenario that it comes in the match". "Her favourite surface and her best surface is grass, and here at Wimbledon".

"She was playing incredibly well and I was fully prepared to be not coming back after that second set", Konta told the BBC.
