There was always going to be a natural draw between me and Amber because of how friendly we were.

Michael also warmed to Amber, and several others in the group, and had nothing but positives to recall from his time on Love Island.

The saved islanders then had to decide, in their couples, on one couple to keep in the villa.

"The people in there have been the easiest people to get along with, and at the same time the toughest".

Despite the ups and downs in the villa, Michael insisted: "I would never change any of the couplings I was in". The best experience. I learnt so much about myself in there and it was a massive life lesson for me.

"Anton from day one I knew would be a great friend - when he said he wanted to couple up with me, I knew we would get along really well". I wouldn't change anything with Amber and Joanna. "I'm glad I went as Michael was ready to go and it gives everyone else an opportunity to grow as a couple, so I'm not disappointed".

"It was unexpected. I never expected to go from the beginning to the end".

The 22-year-old entered during the Casa Amor stint and became involved in a vicious love triangle with Amber Gill and Michael Griffiths, after he dumped Amber for her.

The incident came days after President Donald Trump tweeted that four congresswomen of color, including U.S. Erica Thomas of Austell tearfully described the confrontation in a Facebook video Friday, July 19, 2019.

"Any conversation I've had with him has been really sweet and he has been so respectful about the situation. So, I think the show has quite a depth to it", she said. Having seen them together more I see it working.

In his first exit interview, Michael has set the record straight on his feelings about his time on the reality show, which saw him dump and devastate Amber after returning from Casa Amor to recouple with Joanna.

Reflecting on his decisions over the past few weeks, Michael continued: "Everybody makes mistakes". It's hard for me to watch this right now, I'm not gonna lie. Not all the time.

However, Michael has now admitted he thought about Joanna "every day" he was in the villa once she was gone.

She also told The Sun that despite Michael trying to win Amber back, she wants to talk to him when he leaves the villa.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper's Hot TV column, she added: "The crawlies and creatures that come into that villa are like aliens. She was always on my mind and I will try to speak to her".

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.

After a shocking recoupling in the Love Island villa this week, two islanders were sent home, while a new bombshell - who just happened to be a former Big Brother contestant Winston Hines - arrived to the Fiji holiday home looking for an undeniable connection.
