David Fincher Confirms ‘Mindhunter’ S2 Will Finally Hit Netflix Month

Episodes for the follow up season will premiere on Netflix on August 16. The show's first season arrived on Netflix on October 13, 2017 and quickly spiked in popularity, earning praise from viewers and critics alike. Netflix knew it had something good on its hands and renewed it for a second season soon after the premiere.

Netflix's Mindhunter will resume... mindhunting?... this August, almost two years after Season 1 dropped.

Jonathan Groff, Anna Torv, and Holt McCallany are returning for the second season. The pair help local police find serial killers (and get ahead of them) by better understanding their psychology through working with already imprisoned murderers.

Fincher has said that Season 2 will be set during the time of the Atlanta child murders of 1979-81, during which African-American serial killer Wayne Williams was tried, convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for killing two adult males. He directed four episodes in the first season, including the first and last ones. Speaking on the KCRW podcast The Treatment, executive producer and director David Fincher revealed that the series will be back for season two on August 16.
