‘Mortal Kombat’: Joe Taslim Cast As Sub-Zero In New Line Reboot

That movie was followed by a sequel titled Mortal Kombat: Annihilation two years later.

Joe Taslim has joined the "Mortal Kombat" movie reboot. The fighter, who has the power to control ice in many forms, is also know for his rivalry with Scorpion. The original Mortal Kombat movie, directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, launched in 1995 and is considered one of the best video game to movie adaptations out there.

However, the franchise found new life in 2010 when Mortal Kombat: Rebirth made waves online.

With Joe Taslim playing the legendary character "Sub-Zero" fans are already excited for the film. We'll be keeping tabs on Mortal Kombat throughout its production, and we'll bring you all the news that's fit to report. Wan, via his Atomic Monster company is set to produce along with Todd Garner.

Smoking in public places was banned in 2007, with compulsory plain packaging for cigarettes brought in back in 2016. The Government already had a goal to reduce smoking rates to 12 per cent in adults by 2022.

"Actor and martial artist Joe Taslim has been cast in a pivotal role in the upcoming 'Mortal Kombat" reboot. The screenplay comes from up-and-coming writer Greg Russo, who's also been circling a new Resident Evil film. Taslim's breakout role was in 2011's The Raid: Redemption, an Indonesian martial arts action film about a team of SWAT members in Jakarta infiltrating and fighting their way through an apartment complex quarantined by a drug lord.

Commercial director Simon McQuoid is set to make his feature debut with the project. As a producer, his credits include most of the Saw movies including the recently announced reboot with Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson, most of the Conjuring Universe movies, Lights Out, and Insidious: The Last Key.

With the current hype of Mortal Kombat 11 and the capabilities of James Wan in handling fantasy and superhero movies ensure it will be a treat.
