The report states Gerald Griggs, the representative for one of Kelly's victims, revealed the Northern District of IL conducted the investigation which lead to the uncovering of more than 20 tapes.

The tapes reportedly feature multiple victims and the evidence can help build the case the feds are now building e against R. Kelly. Griggs' claims the videos are what the feds were looking for to secure R. Kelly's most recent indictments for sex crimes, which include child pornography. Another indictment was filed against Kelly by the Eastern District of NY, which pins the singer with charges of racketeering, kidnapping, forced labor and the sexual exploitation of a child. Prosecutors are moving to not grant Kelly bail. It also names Kelly's business manager, Derrel McDavid, and another employee.

Additionally, Kelly is facing a separate indictment in Brooklyn, charging him with one count of racketeering and four counts of violating the Mann Act, which prohibits transporting people across state lines for the objective of prostitution. The indictments date back to 1999 and chronicle over two decades of criminal activity. It accuses Kelly of engaging in sexual acts with girls under 18, of having sex with a woman without disclosing that he had a sexually transmitted disease and of producing child pornography.
