The Queen's recent outing comes just days after reports emerged suggesting she is passing on some of her royal duties as she takes steps to give up the throne.

While rumors about Queen Elizabeth giving up all or part of her powers to Prince Charles have been shut down, the Prince of Wales has been seen taking extra royal duties from his mother and reportedly preparing himself to be the King.

If you aren't familiar with the Regency Acts, these were a series of laws that regulate the process of establishing regency in case the monarch could no longer perform his or her royal duties.

Her Majesty, now 93, will keep her title, and her husband Prince Philip, 98, will be named Guardian of the Queen.

Royal author Phil Dampier told the publication: "There is talks that when she reaches 95 in a couple of years she may slow down and possibly the Regency Act will be brought in".

'He is starting to do that already, being at the state opening in Parliament and the Commonwealth conference. For the Queen's request to take effect, "Prince Philip along with a Houses of Parliament spokesperson and a third senior person" would have to provide evidence supporting it.

Rapinoe: 'We Need to Have a Reckoning'
One story to develop during the Women's World Cup was the feud between U.S. captain Megan Rapinoe and president Donald Trump . For the record, the players and politicians haven't been the only ones pushing for equal pay during the parade .

Back at the start of the Queen's reign, the Duke of Edinburgh went through a period of not actually having a title - he was an HRH, but not a prince.

He claims Palace communications staff have been ordered to be "up to speed" on the 1937 Regency Act - the bill that grants power to the heir apparent. The Regency Act of 1811, for example, designated then-Prince of Wales George as regent when his father King George III became incapacitated due to his mental illness.

The Queen, who celebrated her 93rd birthday in April, may have already made a decision to give up some powers when she turns 95, Dampier says.

Mr Jobson said one former Royal Household told him: "Out of the profound respect the Queen holds for the institution of monarchy and its stewardship, Her Majesty would want to make sure that she has done everything she can for her country and her people before she hands over".

"He is starting to take over a lot of the duties and doing the investitures".

Though Queen Elizabeth would still maintain her royal title, the 70-year-old Prince Charles would essentially be a steward until she were to pass away, after which point he would be crowned King of England.
