West Ham United have signed French striker Sebastien Haller from Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt for an undisclosed club record fee, the Premier League club said on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old has signed a five-year deal with the Irons, with the option for a further year included.

British media reports put the figure at 45 million pounds.

West Ham broke their transfer record to sign Felipe Anderson from Lazio previous year (Adam Davy/PA).

But just like strike partner Luka Jovic, Haller has now departed the Commerzbank-Arena, becoming West Ham's fourth signing of the season alongside Pablo Fornals, Roberto and David Martin.

Haller played 75 times for Frankfurt during his two seasons at the club, amassing 32 goals.

In the wake of his switch to the Premier League, Haller has expressed his delight with the move to the London Stadium and feels it is a good opportunity for him.

Ezekiel Elliott Considering Holding Out
It remains to be seen what Dallas will do in the event Zeke does hold out, but we don't expect them to actually move him. And while a holdout certainly would put the Cowboys in a tough position, it's not hard to see Elliott's perspective.

West Ham fans have been very excited to sign a new striker.

"It means a lot [to be the record signing]", Haller said in a statement. It means a lot (to be record signing). It proves that the club really wanted me for a long time. I think this is a normal thing and that I can guarantee.

Manuel Pellegrini kicks off his second season in charge at the London Stadium with a home tie against Manchester City on Saturday, August 10.

However, the former France Under-21 worldwide is not anxious by his new price tag and instead feels it shows just how determined West Ham were to get him as he looks to pay them back on the pitch.

He also enjoyed a fruitful spell at FC Utrecht, where he found the back of the net 51 times in 98 games for the Dutch side before moving to Frankfurt.

That form earned him a £6m move to Frankfurt in 2017.

Haller scored 20 goals in all competitions in 2018-19, including five in Eintracht's run to the semi-finals of the Europa League.

However, West Ham recently made a breakthrough and have now confirmed the signing.
