Springboks say 16-16 'win' no pointer to World Cup

Rugby Championship: South Africa draw with New Zealand after late Herschel Jantjies try

Hansen's side drew 16-16 with South Africa at Westpac Stadium on Saturday after replacement scrum-half Herschel Jantjies scored a try in the final minute of play, after claiming a kick above opposite Aaron Smith. "So fairly lucky, in a big way".

Then, in a reversal of the first half, the game ended with the Springboks storming back.

Australia will host New Zealand in the final round of fixtures on Saturday morning.

On a miserable night for the All Blacks, influential lock Brodie Retallick left the field with a lower arm injury which might impact his involvement in the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

"But, we weren't far away from a couple of results not only last week, but a year ago, obviously against Australia there in Salta and then in November, we should have won against Scotland, but not good enough". However, Hansen put a positive spin on the game. "When teams rush on you like that, you are going to get slammed sometimes, it's the nature of the beast, but sometimes you can pick it apart and we did that".

There will soon be a ‘Baby Shark’ cereal
" Baby Shark ", known for its catchy tune, will soon be sold as a cereal through retail stores like Sam's Club and Walmart. The song is also being transformed into an animated series for Nickelodeon, a rep for the network told CNN .

It will be two much-changed squads that will play against each other on Saturday in Wellington, after both coaches decided to make wholesale changes by bringing back a big group of players that were not involved in the opening round of the Rugby Championship.

Jantjies, who scored two tries on debut against Australia last week, had replaced Faf de Klerk midway through the second half after the 27-year-old had a head injury assessment and did not return.

South Africa failed to make the most of their early dominance, allowing their opponents to take a 7-6 half-time lead thanks to converted try from Jack Goodhue that stemmed from a turnover near the halfway line.

Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus, who like Hansen is using the Rugby Championship to fine tune his selections and trial tactics, said his side had been lucky to snatch the draw but also felt there was still plenty of improvement in them. Right at the end we could have lost it and we managed to draw the game.

Thankfully for him and his team, a scan revealed no fracture or joint damage, a diagnosis which means he could still play a meaningful part in the All Blacks' World Cup defence which starts for them with a pool game against South Africa in Yokohama on September 21.
