The official YouTube app returns to Amazon's Fire TV

Amazon wanted you to buy its Chromecast competitor hardware, Fire TV, for its streaming service (and others with Fire TV support) a questionable play, with Chromecast devices already nearly ubiquitous in many markets and we're happy to see the end of.

After more than a year of conflicts between Amazon and Google over their media products, the companies are finally playing well with each other. Then, Google took things a step further by blocking YouTube from functioning on both the Echo Show and Fire TV devices. Although, let's not forget Amazon continued to sell dozens of poor-quality Chromecast knockoffs.

Amazon's Prime Video app has added Chromecast support overnight on Android and iOS and allowed its Android TV app to roll out to more devices while Google's brought an official YouTube app to Amazon's Fire TV stick. The official YouTube app on Fire TV is better than ever with expanded Alexa voice controls that help customers find, launch, and control content (pause, play, rewind, fast-forward) using their voice. The app was removed in late 2017 after Amazon removed Google's smart home products from its online store. After over a year and a half of this dispute, YouTube is once again available for the Fire TV. More device support will come later.

This is allegedly the Galaxy Tab S6, Samsung's next high-end tablet
On the bright side, that means there is no notch or hole-punch display on this tablet, which will make some people happy. The bezels on the Galaxy Tab S6 do look to be a bit on the thick side, but on a tablet that's not as big of a deal.

Amazon Prime members will also be happy to hear that Amazon's Prime Video now works with Chromecast.

This will bring thousands more titles to each company's streaming devices. With Chromecast support, you can cast content straight from the Prime Video app to your TV. In a major win for consumers, the Amazon Prime Video app just received an update and users should soon be greeted with the notification screen seen below. It was previously only on the Nvidia Shield and a few TVs.
