Tottenham 'line up transfer bid for £30m Leeds star Kalvin Phillips' after already poaching Jack Clarke

The squad selection for the tour came as welcome news to Leeds fans following the disappointing departures of Jack Clarke and Pontus Jansson, with Kalvin Phillips included in the travelling squad despite reports heavily linking him to a big money move to Premier League side Spurs.

Spurs have already signed Jack Clarke from the Elland Road giants this summer, paying €12m for the midfielder earlier this month.

While Clarke will continue his development at Leeds, it remains to be seen if he will be playing alongside Phillips again this term.

Aston Villa are another club who have made their interest known but they reportedly saw an £11m bid rebuffed.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Lilywhites are keen on a deal to bring the 23-year-old to White Hart Lane as they look to add to their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Spurs can offer Phillips Champions League football and a hefty increase on his current £10,000-a-week salary at Leeds.

De Ligt out of Ajax tour as Juventus transfer beckons
He scored the winning goal in Ajax's 2-1 win against Juventus in last season's Champions League quarter-final. Juventus target Matthijs de Ligt is " awaiting a possible transfer ", Ajax have confirmed.

There is further interest from the top flight in luring Phillips away from Elland Road.

Philipps was virtually ever-present for his hometown side previous year, earning a place in the Championship Team of the Season.

Leeds have loyalty in their favour as Phillips is a boyhood fan of the club.

Phillips was crucial to their success in Leeds' best season since dropping out of the Premier League.

However, he is said to have rejected Leeds' first proposal of a new offer and they will table him a new one in the hope he says yes to staying put.
