Toys "R" Us property's parent company, Tru Kids Brands, has announced (in news we first heard at Toy Wizards) they are teaming up with b8ta, a "software-powered retailer", to bring back the beloved toy store later this year.

Toymakers will also be encouraged to design and set up branded shops within the new stores, creating another potential revenue stream for Tru Kids.

The first two stores will be located in Paramus, New Jersey, and Houston, Texas, according to b8ta.

Barry said more details about the stores will be announced in the coming weeks, including an added online experience.

After storms clear out Thursday, the National Weather Service says temperatures will start to build toward a sweltering summer weekend in New Jersey with triple-digit temperatures and a heat index topping 110 degrees.

While Toys "R" Us built its brand around the idea of being "the biggest toy store there is", its new stores will be more in line with its new reality-smaller and taking up less real estate, reportedly spanning between 6,500 and 10,000 square feet, compared with the sprawling 40,000-square-foot footprint of their former incarnation. "B8ta is proud to bring Toys "R" Us stores back to the USA alongside our partner, Tru Kids, and with our retail as a service platform as its engine".

The new operating system will also have extreme low latency compared with a smartphone operating system, she revealed. The HongMeng OS was confirmed by Huawei when the United States government banned the Chinese giant.

The stores will be almost 6,500 square feet - roughly one third the size of its big-box stores.

After the two new USA stores open, the companies said they plan to open more Toys "R" Us locations in "prime, high-traffic retail markets" in the United States throughout 2020, according to the release. The joint venture will launch a "store experience that will deliver the hottest toy products and brands, carefully curated and showcased in highly immersive smaller-format spaces", in what sounds like an interactive playground designed for a mall-sized store. And even a "reimagined" Toys "R" Us is better than no Toys "R" Us.

Finally, the new company will be opening job fairs in regions that were affected by store closures if Toys" R " Us returns to those areas, with the hope of hiring ex-employees.

Toys R Us declared bankruptcy after struggling with a heavy load of debt caused by a buyout in 2005, including competition from Amazon, Target and Walmart.
