"You are angry because you don't believe in an America where I represent NY 14, where the good people of Minnesota elected @IlhanMN, where @RashidaTlaib fights for MI families, where @AyannaPressley champions little girls in Boston", said Ocasio-Cortez, who has the same birthplace as Trump's father.

"When @realDonaldTrump tells four American congresswomen to go back to their countries, he reaffirms his plan to "Make America Great Again" has always been about making America white again", she said.

The group of women joining Ocasio-Cortez were Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Ayanna Pressley of MA.

We'll update the list of reactions as they come in.

In response, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said that "unfortunately there's an American tradition of telling people to go back to where they came from" and that Trump was trying to "gin up his base" by keeping Americans divided.

Pelosi said that with his tweets, Trump "reaffirms [that] his plan to "Make America Great Again" has always been about making America white again", adding that Trump's "xenophobic comments" were meant to "divide our nation".

Shortly before heading to a golf club that his company owns on Sunday morning, President Trump lashed out at a group of Democratic lawmakers on Twitter. Pelosi told The New York Times that "they're four people, and that's how many votes they got", a remark that brought criticism that Pelosi was marginalizing women of color.

"In the early days of Trump presidency, liberals would joke 'Infrastructure Week!' to highlight how off message and chaotic the administration is", tweeted The District Sentinel's Sam Sacks.

Hollywood has responded to Trump's attack.

Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), left, Rashida Tlaib (Mich.) and Ayanna Pressley (Mass.), who were all born in the United States, are three of the four freshman Democrats whom President Trump tweeted should "go back" to the "crime infested places from which they came". Telling people to go back where they came from?

Depending on your behavior, it can be determined whether or not you are using exam dumps and if so, penalties will be imposed. As you can see the retake policy is a bit lenient, but it is still wise to make sure that you pass at the first attempt.

Trump has regularly attacked Omar and ridiculed Ocasio-Cortez, although a new book does contain expressions seemingly denoting respect for the New Yorker, particularly the observation that she is similar to Eva Perón.

The four freshmen to the House of Representatives have strongly opposed the president on a variety of issues, especially the treatment of illegal aliens at detention facilities at the USA border.

In his campaign kickoff in June 2015, Trump deemed many Mexican immigrants "rapists".

In 2017, following violence between white nationalists and anti-racism campaigners, Mr Trump said there was "fault on both sides" for the violence that erupted in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Repeatedly, Trump has painted arriving immigrants as an "infestation" and he has been slow in condemning acts of violence committed by white supremacists. Fearful of his Twitter account and sweeping popularity among Republican voters, GOP lawmakers have largely tried to ignore the provocative statements. The president-who seemed to be enjoying placing himself in the middle of an internecine squabble between his political enemies-expressed his support for Pelosi and decried her critics.

Omar, who fled war-torn Somalia as a child and came to the United States as a refugee, is the first black Muslim woman in Congress, and Pressley, who was born in Cincinnati, is the first African American elected to Congress from MA.

Now, AOC was - of course - born in the United States, but she too owes everything she has become to the American people.

Ocasio-Cortez, who is of Puerto Rican descent, was born in the Bronx, New York, and raised in suburban Westchester County.

Tlaib was born in Detroit.
