Trump weighs ousting Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross after census defeat

The National Broadcasting Company (NBC) is out with the latest headlines, citing that the US President Trump is considering removing the US Commerce Secretary Ross.

According to NBC News, President Donald Trump has been calling around to gauge reactions to replacing Ross.

CNBC reported Monday morning that Ross, 81, might be the next cabinet head to depart the Trump administration. "I have every reason to think Secretary Ross is doing a good job". Some White House aides are predicting that Ross will be out as early as this summer.

Special counsel Robert Mueller's hearing could be delayed
The special counsel agreed to testify only after receiving a subpoena. "There's nothing Mueller "can say", Trump said". In the news conference, Mueller indicated that it was up to Congress to decide what to do with his findings.

Commerce Department press secretary Kevin Manning said in a statement to The Post, "Currently, the Secretary is overseeing the Department's response to Hurricane Barry, including NOAA's extremely accurate track and intensity forecast". The White House has also not been pleased with some of the trade negotiations Ross and his team have held with China.

His saving grace, however, could be his personal relationship with the president - and that Trump doesn't want to have to push out another cabinet member so soon after Labor Secretary Alex Acosta's resignation.

Late on Friday, Trump said he disagreed with the findings of a Commerce Department investigation that found uranium imports threaten to impair USA national security and instead ordered a 90-day review by federal agencies, saying "a fuller analysis of national security considerations with respect to the entire nuclear fuel supply chain is necessary".
