Was umpiring error responsible for MS Dhoni's wicket?

On Wednesday, Team India got eliminated from the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup after going down in the semi-finals against New Zealand.

India's next big limited-overs assignment will be the World T20 in Australia next year and it will be happening after a gap of four years.

Having an insanely prolific top-order comprising of Dhawan, Rohit and Kohli might be the envy of many global sides but it brings with it a recipe for disaster as seen in the Champions Trophy and now the World Cup semi-final. Kane Williamson (67) and Ross Taylor (74) formed the bedrock of their innings.

A man called Steve summed up the national feeling when he told Radio Sport: "What an absolute dickhead I was".

The run out of MS Dhoni in the penultimate over pretty much brought the Indian chase in the semi-finals to an end, with the team finishing well short of the 240-run target. "But the guys have showed a lot of heart throughout this whole campaign". The New Zealand bowlers made sure to take down some of the best batsmen from Team India, leading to our men in bue's unfortunate defeat.

"We all know the game is a fine line in a number of ways". But that run-out was significant. The Ball Msd became runout should be given as NoBall...& Dhoni should have played and India have Won....

"I think we are good enough to beat anyone".

James Nokise noted on Radio New Zealand that New Zealand were "incapable of simply winning or losing".

Will Andrew Cashner deal lead to flurry of trade activity?
The right-hander has had a strong campaign considering how much the Orioles have lagged behind the rest of the league this season. Baltimore also agreed to make contingent payments on some of Cashner's performance bonuses if he should achieve them.

"I don't think India really recognised the task which was ahead of them, the chase was a lot more hard then they imagined".

"Well I thought we should have won".

Lata Mangeshkar on Thursday urged Mahendra Singh Dhoni to not think about retiring anytime soon as the country still needs a cricketer like him. That is how it rather ended up.

India were simply unsure of their middle-order combination.

"The one criticism (for selectors) is that they fiddled around the middle order". "With rain around, we wanted to see if it changed conditions (as compared to Tuesday). In six balls we knew he meant business", the Indian Express said. "Obviously they're a world-class side, and the guys were able to do that".

However, a story started doing rounds on Twitter when a video about the legality of the ball on which Dhoni got out emerged on social media.

"They absorbed the pressure nicely and anything can happen with Dhoni and Jadeja at the crease, so it's just nice to come out on the right side", Boult said. Otherwise, we played a really good brand of cricket. He steadied the innings along with wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni as the duo stitched together a partnership of 116-runs.
