After its private debut at an event on August 15, the Acura Type S Concept will make its public debut at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering on August 16. Not only does the vehicle give us a pretty darn good idea of what to expect from future Acura models, it also previews the return of the Type S trim, which is good news for those hoping that Acura would get its performance lineup back in order - aside from the NSX, natch.

While it's primarily form and not so much function that Acura has focused on here, the Type S Concept doesn't completely put engineering aside.

The side profile is clean and continues the sporty theme. Stopping ability comes courtesy of drilled Brembo brakes with four-piston calipers. The vehicle aims for sporty design with a wide track, a long hood, a low stance, and big 21-inch, 285-mm tires at all four corners.

While it looks like a beefy rear-wheel-drive sedan, that's not the case.

This is no mere design frippery for a high-end auto show, never to be seen again, however.

Under the deal's terms, Viacom shareholders would receive about a 0.6 share of CBS stock in exchange for 1 share of Viacom stock. The breadth and depth of the combined company's reach across both traditional and new platforms - including 22% of U.S.

The Type S Concept is a four-door sedan that points to a new future for the Acura TLX. That earned kudos for its driving style, but was felt by some to be too visually restrained for the segment. Its design is low, wide, and sleek, and Acura says it will heavily influence the next-generation TLX Type S-and the brand hinted at more Type S models to come.

To highlight the car's sporty intent, the Type S concept is also fitted with a carbon-fibre boot-lid spoiler, four exhaust tips, large air intakes, and a rear diffuser. That hasn't been seen on a new Acura since the Acura TL Type S back in 2008, marking a performance variant of the vehicle.

Something we definitely hope Acura also brings with its production Type S vehicles is the "Double Apex Blue Pearl" paint that the Type S Concept is shown in here.

The vehicle is painted in an arresting shade of "Double Apex Blue Pearl" that uses nano pigments and is topped with a color-infused clear coat to improve its luster.
