Apple's Former Siri Head Is Joining Microsoft as CVP of Technology

Former Siri head Bill Stasior joins Microsof

Although Stasior was in charge of Apple's Siri team since the assistant's initial launch, he won't be working on Cortana at Microsoft.

Bill Stasior, who led Apple's Siri efforts for several years, has joined Microsoft to lead an AI group under CTO Kevin Scott.

Stasior is going to Microsoft with the intention of helping to bridge the company's technology strategies across platforms and services alongside the business' recently promoted CTO.

Trump accuses Jewish Democrat voters of 'great disloyalty'
A number of groups noted that accusations of disloyalty have always been made against Jews, including in Europe during the 1930s. Trump also claimed that Tlaib and Omar, whose visas to enter Israel were denied of hating Jewish people and their country.

The move underlines Microsoft's commitment to emerging technologies, such as AI.

Stasior will be joining the company officially later this month, but it's worth noting that he didn't come straight from Apple. Last year, the iPhone maker poached John Giannandrea from Google, where he was a former head of search and AI. According to The Information, that promotion resulted in Stasior walking away from day-to-day duties running the Siri team. Giannandrea wanted to push, "the Siri team to focus more on long-term research rather than incremental improvements that have defined Siri for most of the product's history". That meant he was reporting directly to CEO Tim Cook, and he was also responsible for all machine learning and general AI projects at Apple. The two companies are no longer at each other throats in the way that they once were. But an Apple team leader departing for Microsoft is still news. It'll be interesting to see if his hiring has any trickle-down impacts from a consumer perspective.
