Tyronn Lue Agrees to Join the Clippers Coaching Staff As Top Assistant

During Lue's absence, he was often linked to the Los Angeles Lakers and appeared to be the frontrunner for that head coaching gig just a few months ago.

Lue was a championship-winning coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, and he has an innate understanding about how to deal with star players in the National Basketball Association.

Though Lue followed his firing by helping the Clippers in an unofficial, advisory capacity at times last season, his exit from Cleveland essentially forced him to step away from the grind.

Charania also reported that Lue and the Lakers failed to come to an agreement on a contract in May.

In 2015-16, he became the first coach in National Basketball Association history to win his first 10 playoff games and joined a short list of coaches that led their team to the Finals after only taking charge midseason.

They have now doubled their tally after agreeing a deal with Tyronn Lue to join the Clippers coaching staff alongside head coach Doc Rivers.

Disney Unveils ‘Noelle’ Trailer Starring Anna Kendrick, Bill Hader
Today at the Disney + panel at the D23 Expo , the trailer for the upcoming Disney + exclusive, Noelle , was released. But Nick can't handle pressure of his new responsibilities and jumps at the opportunity to get away for the weekend.

Tyronn Lue is returning to the National Basketball Association. In December of 2018, Rivers brought in Lue in an informal role, and he spent a significant amount of time around the team.

Lue, 42, compiled a 128-77 record in two and a half seasons in Cleveland.

Instead of joining LeBron James in L.A., Lue is taking his talents to the Clippers.

Lue has experience under Doc Rivers from 2011-2013 with the Boston Celtics.

The Clippers, after adding Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to their roster in the offseason, are among the title favourites for the upcoming season. They want to win.
