Foldable and incredibly convenient, Osmo Mobile 3 is the ideal on-the-go companion for shooting with a smartphone.

The Osmo Mobile 3 pairs with a smartphone running the DJI Mimo app over Bluetooth.

Yes, this isn't a joke, the gimbal can actually fold down practically in half, making it way more portable than its predecessor.

Elsewhere, DJI has kept the per charge Li-ion battery life of 15 hours, but has redesigned the device for easier access to the charging and audio ports.

Perhaps the most interesting part is the new, lower price.

Drake Takes Shots At The Beatles With New Tattoo Celebrating Billboard Record
Drake officially has more slaps than The Beatles and he recently got some new ink to commemorate the accomplishment. Ironically, the Abbey Road album cover was shot exactly 50 years ago this week.

Now DJI releases the third generation - DJI Osmo Mobile 3. First off, we've got the new design with its oblique supporting arm. This is most likely dependent on a type of smartphone used.

For a device that was already the top pick in its category, the Osmo Mobile 3 is damn impressive. I suppose if you use something really big like a Rode Videomic Me, that won't fly, but if it's something smaller it just might work. It's worth noting that the foldable design is not a new feature in the world of smartphone gimbals. Using a dedicated app installed on your phone, the OSMO Mobile 3 will actively track an object and even respond to hand gestures.

What do you think of the new Osmo Mobile 3? Then, there's stuff like Story Mode which looks like a quick way to edit and share recorded footage to social media similar to something like GoPro's Quik app. Quick Roll mode moves the docked phone from portrait to landscape orientation without having to remove the smartphone from the cradle.

A new standby mode that's activated by pressing the M button three times allows the gimbal to fold up without being fully turned off, so you can go from the compact travel mode to filming in just a few seconds.

Gestures are also a part of the control scheme, here, with features like ActiveTrack 3.0. DJI is asking $119 / £99 / $AU159 for the standard version of the Osmo Mobile 3, which includes a wrist strap, storage pouch and anti-slip pads, or $139 / £119 / $AU189 for the more premium combo, which sees the Osmo Grip Tripod and the Osmo Carrying Case thrown in, in addition to the above.
