On August 21, Forbes released their list of 2019's highest-paid actors, and I can only wish that I would make a tiny fraction of what these guys are bringing home every year.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has reclaimed his position as the world's highest-paid actor, according to a Forbes rich list otherwise dominated by the cast of Marvel's record-breaking Avengers films.

Johnson brought in that massive total from a number of lucrative films including Skyscraper, Fighting With My Family, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and his upcoming Disney film, Jungle Cruise, for which he'll be making $23.5 million. Johnson moved up from second place past year while earning less.

He made that $73.7 million between June 2018 and June 2019 thanks to his film and TV projects, as well as his various product lines. On top of that, Johnson earns $700,000 per episode of HBO's Ballers and millions more from clothing royalties.

The fourth-biggest earner was Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, with $65 million, and Hong Kong-born actor and martial artist Jackie Chan with $58 million.

US Secretary of State Says Crypto Should Be Regulated Like SWIFT
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo speaks to the media at the State Department in Washington , U.S., August 7, 2019. He said the US will not hold them at its base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, "for the next 50 years and pay for it".

But last year's number one George Clooney dropped out of the top 10, having banked his $1 billion deal for his tequila company the previous year.

Forbes added that Robert Downey Jr.is getting $20 million upfront and almost 8% of the pool for his role as Iron Man. Downey, however, does not feature on the new list.

Hemsworth, who plays fan favourite Thor, is followed by Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man) in third, Bradley Cooper (Rocket) in sixth, Chris Evans (Captain America) in eighth and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) in ninth.

Johnson has practically been a fixture on the magazine's highest earners list for nearly a decade and this isn't the first time he has claimed the top spot. All the figures are also pre tax and before payments to managers, agents, etc.
