Eddie Jones Confirms Who Will Cover As England's 'Third' Scrumhalf

Eddie Jones hit out at World Rugby over a "ridiculous" red card shown to New Zealand's Scott Barrett and allayed injury concerns over Tom Curry after England's Rugby World Cup warm-up win over Wales.

Victory would have handed Six Nations champions Wales the top spot for the first time, ending New Zealand's decade-long reign.

Leicester Tigers forward Dan Cole and scrum-half Youngs are the most experienced players included in the selection - the pair boast 86 global caps each and both represented England in their disappointing home Rugby World Cup campaign in 2015.

As expected, Jones left out former captain Dylan Hartley, scrumhalf Danny Care, flyhalf Danny Cipriani and fullback Mike Brown, the player New Zealand-born Te'o had an altercation with at a camp in Treviso last month.

"They really stuck to the game plan, played with a lot of determination and effort", said England boss Eddie Jones after the win against Wales.

"The message we have for them is that they have still got to be ready because the circumstances of the World Cup dictates that you have injuries".

New US rule could disqualify half of visa applicants
This rule change on benefits could be the most drastic of all the Trump administration's immigration policies, experts have said. Immigration advocates worry the new rules will scare immigrants into not asking for help.

Jones' 135 global cap - 126 coming for Wales and nine for The British & Irish Lions - would also have been coach Warren Gatland's 15 successive victory if it wasn't for England, who came flying out of the blocks to score two early tries.

Gloucester scrumhalf Heinz appears to have done enough with a excellent performance against Wales on Sunday, but interestingly is one of just two scrumhalves in the squad alongside Ben Youngs.

The RFU tweeted a video to accompany the squad announcement, detailing the backgrounds of the players that will be competing in Japan.

Billy Vunipola, Joe Cokanasiga and Luke Cowan-Dickie all crossed over for England in the first half as they led 21-7 at the break.

Jones said over the weekend that Te'o was still in World Cup contention but the Australian has chosen to leave him out. Jones also masterminded one of the greatest Rugby World Cup upsets when his Japan team beat South Africa four years ago. "We have taken the decision to go early because of what we learned from previous campaigns".

England plays Tonga, the United States, Argentina and France in the group stage at the World Cup.
