Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweets he supports Democratic presidential nominee hopeful Andrew Yang

2020 Democratic presidential candidate and tech entrepreneur Andrew Yang scored a major endorsement this weekend from fellow tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, the founder of PayPal who now leads SpaceX and Tesla.

Musk's tweet in support of Yang has already gathered over 15,000 retweets and almost 80,000 likes. Changing one's mind is not a bad thing'.

In response to a tweet Yang, 44, posted about being open-minded and solving problems, Musk replied: "I support Yang", on Twitter on Saturday.

Acknowledging Musk's support Yang expressed his gratitude.

San Francisco police were treating the case as a "high priority", according to the newspaper. A camera, laptop, bag, and miscellaneous jewelry were taken from the vehicle.

Yang also made headlines recently for visibly breaking down after hearing how a woman lost her 4-year-old daughter killed by a stray bullet as her twin brother witnessed it.

Musk then elaborated by noting that Yang 'would [be] our first openly goth president. "I think this is very important", Musk added in another tweet.

The Tesla boss had previously backed the idea of universal basic income. As president Yang hopes to launch what he calls a Freedom Dividend that would provide $1,000 a month to every American. When asked by Twitter user Harry Stoltz about universal basic income, Musk called the policy "obviously needed".

Musk endorsed Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump ahead of the 2016 presidential election but ultimately agreed to join Trump's economic advisory team when the president took office. "Congrats on building the future".
