At this point in their investigation, authorities said, the attacks don't appear to be racially motivated.

Warner is seen in this booking photo from the Garden Grove Police Department.

'These are all random acts of violence, our suspect was not connected to any of our victims, ' Whitney said.

Police work the scene of a stabbing in Santa Ana, Calif., on August 7, 2019.

Jones lambasted a California state Assembly bill passed into law by voters in 2011 that apparently hastened the suspect's release from incarceration.

Another tragic incident in the USA, and this time it's in Southern California.

The man arrested is 33 years old and has a criminal history, police said. Castaneda came out of the convenience store armed with a handgun and knife, officials said.

He told investigators the blood he was covered in was tomato juice, according to Garden Grove Police Lt. Carl Whitney. All 4 died from their injuries.

Police said there was no threat to the public. The suspect's mother had been living with him and had once asked police how she could evict her son, he said. "This guy was armed with knives - she fought as best as she could", Whitney said. "We don't want to see tragedies like this happen". The suspect had stabbed a woman at the business, stolen money and taken off, police said. The assailant then drove to an apartment complex nearby, where two more people were attacked and murdered.

Police allege the suspect returned to the two men's apartment complex about 5 p.m. and stabbed both of them.

Next, the suspect stabbed two men during a confrontation at his apartment complex in Garden Grove, leaving one dead inside an apartment and another wounded on the balcony, who later died at a hospital.

The two people injured in the attacks are now in a stable condition.

Epstein: How he died and what it means for his accusers
Another accuser, Jennifer Araoz, who came forward after the new charges were filed, said she was angered by Epstein's suicide. Alexander Acosta, the Florida attorney general at the time , resigned as Trump's Labor Secretary last month.

She "was very fearless", Whitney said earlier.

The suspect's mother, Vivian Wolff, was found dead about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday inside a room she was renting and sharing with her son in a condominium in the 14000 block of Flower Street.

A bakery was then robbed; as was an insurance business and a woman was stabbed several times in the back.

The two people who were wounded were expected to survive.

A cheque-cashing business also was robbed, as well as a petrol station where a man was slashed so badly that his nose was almost severed, Whitney said. He is, however, expected to live.

Garden Grove Police Chief Tom DaRé told reporters that Castaneda "could have injured or killed many other people" had he not been apprehended as he walked out of a convenience store in the neighboring city of Santa Ana, dropping a knife and a gun he had taken from a security guard he had just killed.

Police arrested the suspect at a 7-Eleven at Harbor Boulevard and 1st Street, one of eight crime scenes in the two-hour spree that straddled the two cities.

The late afternoon crime spree appeared to evolve from robberies to random violent attacks along a 10-mile swathe of Orange County from Garden Grove to Santa Ana, police said, according to local reports.

Police called the man "full of anger".

The Orange County coroner's office says Thursday that Pascual Rioja Lorenzo was killed at a Santa Ana Subway restaurant where he worked.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
