'Game of Thrones' show was not good for me: George RR Martin

George R.R. Martin Says HBO’s ‘Thrones’ Ending Won’t Influence Future Books

The hit HBO fantasy drama series - which concluded with its eighth and final season earlier this year - was based on George's A Song of Ice and Fire novels, but eventually, the TV show overtook the material written by George, and so the show's writers were forced to deviate from the author's work. Similarly, Martin also said he can't even enjoy a trip to the book store without being surrounded by fans. It doesn't change anything at all. "You cant please everybody, so youve got to please yourself".

"Some of [the theories] are right and some of [the theories] are wrong", he said. "I don't think [the series] was very good for me", he said. "Every Time he sits for writing panic mode gets triggered:" My God I have to finish the book. However, Martin would feel bad because he would think that he should have written 40 instead, to complete the book quickly. I've possibly composed four pages when I ought to have composed 40.' But having the show completion is liberating, in light of the fact that I'm at my very own pace now.

Martin also seems pretty bummed about how the show has affected his personal life, saying that he misses the old days when he was able to exist more anonymously.

Zidane indicates Bale will stay after Real win
That year, Los Blancos went on to win the title. "With 10 we played very well, together and defending as a team", he added. Real Madrid will now compete against Valladolid in La Liga on August 24. "Gareth's game, like all of them, was very good".

In an interview with The Observer, Martin claimed that HBO's controversial ending for the series would have no effect on the endings of the last two novels.

"The Winds of Winter" has been delayed for nearly eight years and George RR Martin sometimes regrets that he did not finish the book as scheduled. "They'll find out when I finish", Martin said. "I mean, I can't go into a bookstore any more, and that used to be my favourite thing to do in the world". Ironically, while the show was blitzing through character arcs and plot threads, GRRM says it was a key source of why he's been taking so long to finish Winds of Winter, the next installment in his book series that sparked the show.

And although he admits the TV show hindered his writing progress, he's pleased his work could bring out so many "emotional reactions" in people. Now when I go to a bookstore, I get recognised within 10 minutes and there's a crowd around me. Fiction... should feel as if you're living these things when you read or watch them. And as the progenitor of the original series, he has an even better sense of their differences than fans at home.
