While McConnochie's injury sees him miss out on an England debut, scrum-half Willi Heinz will make his on Sunday.

Both Heinz and McConnochie were surprise inclusions in the wider training squad, with Heinz now edging ahead of Ben Spencer in the battle to be Ben Youngs' back-up. Lewis Ludlam, Joe Marchant and Jack Singleton can also expect to win their first caps from the bench.

Head coach Eddie Jones said his focus for the four warm-ups is on "developing a team capable of winning in Japan".

We controlled the first half hour but made some poor decisions. "We were comfortable in the first half". After a slow start, United grew into the game thanks to a penalty from Rashford .

Meanwhile, according to a report in The Times, Ben Te'o and Mike Brown were left out from England's matchday squad against Wales following an altercation that took place between them during the training camp in Treviso. Elliot Daly gets the nod at full-back.

Heinz will be vice-captain and partners skipper George Ford at half-back, with Piers Francis at inside centre.

Joe Cokanasiga will replace Bath teammate McConnochie in the backline, with Jonathan Joseph and the uncapped Lewis Ludlam stepping in for Slade and Underhill. Alun Wyn Jones, 6. George North, 13. Jonathan Davies, 12. Nicky Smith, 2. Ken Owens, 3. Aaron Wainwright, Justin Tipuric and Ross Moriarty comprise the back row. "Looking at the first two matches, this block replicates what we are doing in the Rugby World Cup with a six day turnaround so it's a good opportunity for us to prepare and mimic that schedule".
