Ivan Perisic has passed his medical for Bayern Munich ahead of his move from Inter to the reigning Bundesliga champions.

"Ivan will help us immediately with his many years of worldwide experience", said Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

The Croatia global underwent medical tests on Monday morning in Munich with Bayern, who are desperately seeking reinforcement in the wide areas.

"I'm very glad to be back in Germany", he said.

Perisic made 162 appearances for Inter in all competitions after joining from Wolfsburg in 2015, scoring 40 goals.

Perisic starred for Croatia in the FIFA World Cup a year ago in Russian Federation, during a tournament where his nation made it to the final, only to lose to France.

The Bundesliga holders were in the market for a new wide player following the summer departures of long-serving wingers Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

The German giants had initially targeted Sane, but turned their attentions to Perisic after the Manchester City winger tore his anterior cruciate ligament last week, potentially ruling him out until early 2020.

The Croatian completed a medical this morning and told Bild: "Yeah, I just had the medical check-up".

While the Nerazzurri have no position for Perisic within their ranks, Bundesliga champions Bayern are happy to open their doors.

Perisic returns to the Bundesliga after four seasons in Italy.
