Lara Spencer has apologized for her "insensitive comments" midday Friday on Instagram. During a segment, Spencer discussed the wide range of subjects the six-year-old prince will be studying this year at his prestigious school.

She revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's eldest child would be studying maths, science, history, religious studies, computer programming, poetry and ballet.

"If it's something you love, you do what you love and it's very important, don't let anyone tell you otherwise", William said a year ago. Dancer and actress Debbie Allen of Fame and Grey's Anatomy also shared her thoughts, calling Spencer's remarks "uncool" and pointing out that men like Steve Jobs and Dustin Hoffman had studied dance.

Actor George Takei also weighed in, tweeting "Lara Spencer on @GMA mocked a 6-year old Prince George of the United Kingdom for taking ballet class". Just think about the young boys who may have seen this and could quit their passion at her expense.

In a now-viral post, choreographer to the stars Brian Friedman said the Good Morning America hosts should be ashamed of their actions "for letting public shaming of young boys happen!"
