Gasly was promoted to Red Bull in the off-season, replacing the Renault-bound Daniel Ricciardo.

Gasly only made his debut with the four-time construction champions in the opening race of the 2019 season back in March, but a paltry return of only 63 points in that time, equating to a massive 118-point deficit over Red Bull's senior driver Max Verstappen has led to Red Bull's decisive mid-season reshuffle.

"So we had to react and give Albon a chance until the end of the season".

On Monday, Pierre Gasly joined that long line of drivers for whom patience had run out, the Frenchman dropped in favour of rookie Alexander Albon.

However, it continues what has been a rollercoaster year for Albon, who thought he'd be racing with Nissan in Formula E before joining Toro Rosso and now finds himself set to take on the best in the business from Spa-Francorchamps next month.

Red Bull boss Christian Horner will "use the next nine races to evaluate Alex's performance" before deciding on their 2020 line-up.

This year, the best time to view the show will be in the last hours before dawn on the mornings of August 12th and 13th. Those grains of sand and rock fall into and burn up in the upper atmosphere, creating streaks of light.

Gasly is sixth in the drivers' standings but has failed to register a podium all season.

Marko explained: "We built a vehicle with too little downforce, we just underestimated how much progress our new engine partner Honda made, and they delivered more power than we thought". "That's why we first wanted to compensate for the missing power with a chassis that is very aerodynamically efficient, but we corrected that".

"But we corrected that and at the last races we were nearly on par with Mercedes, while we have definitely overtaken Ferrari".

"We have definitely overtaken Ferrari".

He added: "I think we will be competitive on every kind of racetrack in the second half of the season".
