In an update released late Wednesday, August 21, the CDC said the figures are up to 153 probable cases between June 28 and August 20, spanning 16 states.

The Delaware Division of Public Health has issued a health advisory after recent reports from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on vaping causing illnesses that include lung problems.

The cases primarily occurred in Wisconsin, but several other states have seen cases, including IL and Pennsylvania.

Venous oxygen reduced by 20 per cent, while blood acceleration also fell by 25.8 per cent after the cuff was released. They observed, on average, a 34% reduction in the femoral artery's dilation.

The Blue Ridge Poison Center at UVA Health joins the CDC in alerting the public to almost 100 cases nationally of lung illnesses that appear to be linked to vaping. While making a public statement Andrea Palm stated that though most of the patients stated that they had vaped before hospitalization but it is still unclear about the products which they had consumed. "And some of them even had to be hospitalized and even required life support from a mechanical ventilator". Many patients said they had recently used a product containing THC, a chemical compound found in marijuana, though investigators haven't conclusively tied any specific products to the illnesses. Other symptoms reported by some patients included fever, chest pain, weight loss, nausea, and diarrhea. Patients reported using an electronic vaping device within a few weeks of the onset of symptoms, often with a vape liquid that contained THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.

The other states reporting cases are: California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, North Carolina, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin, federal officials said.

The illnesses were mostly reported among adolescents and young adults, the CDC said. Information about resources to help people quit smoking and vaping are available on the ODH website, including the Ohio Tobacco Quit Line (1-800-QUIT-NOW).
