Mourinho Says Man City's B Team Could Win Premier League

Premier League giants Manchester United's season opener against Chelsea will also be the first assignment as a Sky Sports commentator for former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

Reigning champions City cruised to a resounding 5-0 victory in their opening game against West Ham on Saturday, with Raheem Sterling plundering a hat-trick.

Their bench boasted the likes of Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan and new signing Joao Cancelo.

Asked by Sky Sports if he thought United could win the title last season Mourinho said: "No, when I said finishing second in the previous season, was one of my biggest achievement, I was not having fun with the words, I was just telling you what I was feeling".

Jose Mourinho claims Manchester City are so strong the Premier League champions could even win the title with their second-string side.

"Man City, Tottenham, Liverpool and the Man City "B" team", Mourinho said of the potential title challengers. "When I looked at the bench [against West Ham], the players not involved, I think the [City] B team could fight for the title".

Notably, Mourinho has not taken up any managerial role after he was sacked by United midway in the last season in December.

"It's also a little bit hard for me, in spite of obviously some good players, I don't see also Arsenal to resist to a title race like last season, last season was phenomenal".

"We are speaking about United that finished sixth and Arsenal that finished fifth".

"If they don't feel it they are in trouble".
