The novel by David Grann, the author of The Lost City of Z (recently adapted for cinema by James Gray) and a staff writer at the New Yorker, explores the murders of Indians in Oklahoma when oil was discovered on their lands in the 1920s. The FBI sent in a team of undercover agents, including one of the only Native Americans in the bureau.
