Sylvia Jeffreys And Peter Stefanovic Announce Exciting Baby News

Huge congrats to two of the best.

"Amazing news! Congratulations you two", commented Phoebe Burgess.

"Holy. What. Wow. Congrats you two". You will make fine parents. "Best news I've heard in ages". So thrilled for you!

Sylvia's pregnancy has been speculated in recent weeks, in particular when she wore a belt to hide her tummy at the Logies and when she chose to jog Sydney's City2Surf marathon in late July. In a statement released at the time, Sylvia said she was looking forward to working on new projects.

"I will be doing my slowest time at the City2Surf [14km] this year", she said. Jeffreys told the Kyle and Jackie O Show about the pressure to get pregnant.

"Oh that's been happening from probably the first day of our honeymoon I think?"

"Oh well, you can't really plan these things, can you? It happens when it happens".

Sylvia's exit followed that of her brother-in-law Karl Stefanovic, who was axed from the show a week earlier, and long-standing entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins, who has been moved over to Today Extra. Peter now works on the Sky News show First Edition, alongside Australian journalist Laura Jayes, while Sylvia recently launched a news bulletin created specifically for Facebook. "Now the fun really begins!" former Today host Lisa Wilkinson wrote. "Hearty congratulations.... and much love from me and V and all of us xxx".

While, Sylvia joined Channel Nine's prime time news program, A Current Affair.
