It's been suggested that the dispute itself was actually over a producer credit and that negotiations for Kevin Feige to produce more Spider-Man films featuring Tom Holland are still ongoing but as of now, Kevin Feige appears to be out, and so does Spider-Man himself from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "It's been five incredible years".

Holland's world got flipped upside down, his future with both Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures was called into question, and his millions of adoring fans wondered why he wasn't speaking out about the situation.

Feige chimed in, telling EW, "It was never meant to last forever". Before leaving the stage, he stopped to tell the audience, "Hey everyone, it's been a insane week but i want you all to know from the bottom of my heart that I love you 3000". Now the two have spoken out for the first time about the Spider-Man deal debacle that has engulfed entertainment news all week.

"As a fan, [I'm] cautiously hopeful that something will come together, because I think all the fans want to see those characters together". To be honest, the reporting has been all over the place on this one, and while Disney maintains it has bowed out of negotiations and will not be producing any further Spider-Man movies-which means Holland also won't be appearing in any additional MCU movies-it's hard to imagine this whole thing is completely over.

For comparison, Robert Downey Jr., Johansson's Avengers costar, earned about $55 million for his turn as Iron Man in Endgame . At San Diego Comic-Con last month, fans were treated to the first look at 2020's Black Widow .

"Much of today's news about Spider-Man has mischaracterized recent discussions about Kevin Feige's involvement in the franchise", Sony said in a statement on Tuesday. I've had the time of my life. But all I know is that I'm going to continue playing Spider-Man and having the time of my life. "The future for Spider-Man will be different, but it will be equally as awesome and fantastic, and we'll find new ways to make it even cooler".

While Sony has two more Spider-Man movies in the works, Jon Watts, who directed Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far From Home, has apparently not signed on yet for the two future movies.

However Peter Parker returns to the big screen, we already had the ideal set-up for a sequel at the end of Far From Home where J. Jonah Jameson (played by J.K. Simmons once again) reveals Spider-Man's secret identity to the entire world.
