Who's a Good Girl?’ Netizens Claim Donald Trump Called Melania as if She Was Dog AFP 2019 Saul Loeb

US President Donald Trump, accompanied by his wife and First Lady Melania visited El Paso following a mass shooting in the border town that claimed the lives of 22 people. One of those photos, described by some hospital staff members as showing "an absence of empathy", controversially shows President Donald Trump with a wide grin giving the thumbs-up sign next to the first lady, who is holding a baby.

The baby that Melania carried was a two-year-old boy, whose parents were killed at the El Paso shooting.

His parents, Jordan and Andre Anchondo both died in the massacre.

University Medical Center spokesman Ryan Mielke said the hospital had reached out to the Anchondo family and other discharged patients on Tuesday, the day before the president's visit, after it became clear that none of the hospitalized shooting victims would meet him.

He also commented that "people" might just be "misconstruing" the president's "ideas".

Ex-FBI No. 2 official Andrew McCabe sues over his firing
The watchdog office referred the matter to the US Attorney's Office in Washington, which has been investigating. Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is claiming his termination was politically motivated.

Standing next to the US President is the child's uncle Tito Anchondo.

However, Melania's post did not go down well on social media as only shortly after it had been posted, the backlash had been quick. Anchondo previously told NPR that his family is Republican and his murdered brother had supported Trump.

At the hospital, the Trumps had not gotten an audience with the eight survivors, as five had declined.

The image was taken on Wednesday at the University Medical Center of El Paso during Trump's visit to the West Texas border city to meet with first responders, medical personnel and surviving victims from Saturday's gun violence at a Walmart store. According to reports, the baby's father was a Trump supporter. It was a sentiment that figured largely in the manifesto, which the suspected shooter Patrick Crusius posted just a short time before the shooting began.
