Tiemoue Bakayoko won the French title at Monaco

Tiemoue Bakayoko secured a return to Monaco on a season-long loan from Chelsea on Saturday after a miserable two seasons since originally leaving the principality.

The 25-year-old midfielder has failed to impress since joining Chelsea from the Ligue 1 club in the summer of 2017 and was way down the pecking order under new manager Frank Lampard.

"I am very happy to return to AS Monaco, a club with which I hold, of course, fantastic memories", said the France global midfielder.

Vice president Oleg Petrov said: "We are delighted to welcome Tiemoue Bakayoko to AS Monaco". He returns to a club and a championship that he knows well.

He is now back at the Stade Louis II, where he will reunite with head coach Leonardo Jardim, having initially joined the club in 2014 from Rennes.
