Corbyn commits to second Brexit vote if Labour Party wins general election

Labour's Watson calls for new Brexit referendum before general election

Labour's Watson calls for new Brexit referendum before general election

Jeremy Corbyn has warned Boris Johnson that a general election "is coming", but not on the Prime Minister's terms, as the Labour leader effectively launched his campaign for an election he is yet to vote for. The party's leadership has insisted it is eager for an election after the risk of a no-deal Brexit on 31 October has been ruled out.

At the TUC conference in Brighton he promised to "put power in the hands of workers", in an echo of the rhetoric we once heard from the likes of Arthur Scargill.

In what looks like a co-ordinated move with Mr Watson, he will say: "We will have to break the deadlock".

Speaking to the Trades Union Congress on Tuesday, Sir Keir Starmer will say that another referendum is the only way of "cleaning up the mess left by the Tories". A referendum is the only way to do so.

Mr Corbyn recommitted to a second referendum on Brexit, which he said would include a "credible option to Leave" as well as Remain.

As former Labour leader Tony Blair advocated at the start of this month, and as MPs such as Peter Kyle have also said, Watson will make the case for resolving the Brexit question with a referendum before holding an election. He made the comment in a speech Tuesday.

The PM had already kicked off his unofficial election campaign with a visit to Yorkshire on Thursday, during which he re-announced his police recruitment drive.

Apple underscored the ambitiousness of the new pro system by showcasing images taken on the devices by professional photographers. Multiple new designer bands and cases will also be available, including one from the super-boujee French fashion company, Hermès.

Mr Corbyn told union members: "No-one can trust the word of a Prime Minister who is threatening to break the law to force through no deal".

"He's trying to trash them all", he will add.

"We were very, very clear that if people wanted a democratic moment, if they wanted an election, we offered it to the Labour opposition and mysteriously they decided not to go for it".

"This latest trick would mean delaying Brexit again for up to a year, handing over £250m a week to Brussels for no goal". Labour are operating anxious of an election and only provide more dither and pointless delay.

"Just as we worked throughout the summer to pass a law preventing no-deal, so we will work each and every day we are shut down to enforce that law".

"In the next few weeks the establishment will come after us with all they've got, because they know we're not afraid to take them on". However, this new legislation obliges the prime minister to ask E.U. members for an extended period of 3 months to exit the union, unless Parliament approves a deal or consents to a no-deal Brexit by October 19th. They demonstrate that it is the only party with a vision radical enough to tackle the deep-rooted systemic problems we face. But there eventually comes a point - and we are very far past it now, well into the fourth year since the referendum - when circumstances are so changed.

The Liberal Democrats, who pushed Labour in to third place in May's European elections with a strident anti-Brexit message, are pushing for Brexit to be stopped in its tracks by revoking Article 50 - the legal process for the UK's departure.
