Amanda Holden returns to the BGT panel for the new series of Britain's Got Talent The Champions

Paul Potts has insisted he was not "sulking" after his surprise elimination from Britain's Got Talent: The Champions.

Classical singer Paul Potts - the talent show's first victor - failed to make it through to the final.

It is a drop from the 8.1 million viewers (9.7 million peak) who tuned in for the launch of the main Britain's Got Talent show earlier in the year.

Britain's Got Talent: The Champions will bring together the winners and finalists from the various Got Talent formats across the world.

Potts - who made it through to the final of America's Got Talent: The Champions previous year - failed to even make it into the top three chosen by the live audience.

Instead sand artist Kseniya Simonova, victor of Ukraine's Got Talent, and daredevil father and daughter duo Bello and Annaliese Nock earned a place in the final. As judge Simon Cowell told them after their performance: "You define the word "champion". Sonali won India's Got Talent in 2012 when she was just seven years old, while Sarder was a finalist in 2014 and 2015. I suppose my outfits do still annoy some people, but I think they're better than they were'.

Each week two acts will make it through to the grand final at the end of the series.

There's also a set of direct-purchase cosmetics, which include a new frame and a Daft Punk-inspired helmeted skin for Wraith. Weapons in this mode are limited to sniper rifles and shotguns, and loot in general has been made "much harder to come by".

I've always loved Paul and it was a true joy to see him back on the BGT stage. I blamed myself. "I self analyse after every performance and I can pick out every error". It was the flawless ending to a great first night of the series.

Dog act duo Ashleigh and Sully, Boogie Storm and daredevil duo from the US Bello and Annaliese Nock were revealed as the audience's favourites.

One fan said: "Just watched BGT".

Bello and Annaliese Nock made it to the final three alongside the UK's Ashleigh and Sully and Boggie Storm, and went on to beat them to the next stage of the show. It was then revealed that Bello and Annaliese Nock was the second act to advance.

He said: "I'll definitely never give up". "Thank you. Thank you".

Britain's Got Talent: The Champions starts Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
