Luke Campbell has approved among the most powerful challenges in boxing by hard world victor Vasyl Lomachenko. The Ukrainian is broadly regarded as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world having won world titles in 3 weight divisions since turning pro in 2013.

Armstrong generally accompanies Ali in the upper reaches when boxing's finest practitioners are listed, following his unprecedented feat of holding featherweight, lightweight and welterweight titles simultaneously in the late 1930s.

But Lomachenko, who entered with the World Boxing Association and World Boxing Organization lightweight belts, claimed the vacant WBC title thanks to decisive championship rounds, sending Campbell to the mat in the 11th with consecutive body blows followed by a straight left to the head.

You can watch the full post-fight interview below. Surprisingly, the former world heavyweight champ answered "a guy from the Ukraine called Lomachenko".

"Of course I'm happy", Lomachenko, 31, said in the ring shortly after the decision. "He always does really well", Tyson said. I knew it wouldn't be easy for me. I hesitate to say "unfortunately" because Luke is world class but Lomachenko is simply one of those hall of famers in the elite level that comes along once in a lifetime, so I hope Luke and his family are as proud as the British fans are this morning. He did predict Commey to beat Lopez, who last fought at MGM National Harbor in July, beating Masayoshi Nakatani, albeit in unspectacular fashion, to set up a world title shot.

In the process of doing that, Lomachenko retained his WBA and WBO belts but he also added the vacant WBC strap, meaning that just the IBF title remains for the 31-year-old to chase.

Campbell's third professional defeat was a formality at that stage - one confirmed by margins of 119-108 (twice) and 118-109 - although he should take pride in his application throughout what is beginning to look like boxing's mission impossible.

Lomachenko will face the Ghanaian in the pursuit of unifying the division, but that clash will likely be pushed back due to Commey's existing commitment to face Tiófemo López.

Texas lawmaker: 'Praying for protection' is a solution for mass shootings
A member of the Odessa Fire Rescue monitors the scene at a local auto dealership following a shooting in Odessa, Texas, U.S. FBI Special Agent Christopher Collins said the gunman was "rambling" but not threatening when he called the tip line.

"Next: IBF!, this is my title!", Lomachenko exclaimed.

Now Lomachenko has three of the four major belts and will aim to become the fifth man to win all of them in the four-belt era.

"Obviously, we're looking to win the fourth belt to unify the title", Arum said.

"The truth is that Loma is such a big star here in the United Kingdom and the fight fans are so sophisticated that he doesn't necessarily have to fight a Brit to come back here and sell out the O2", Arum said, with the defeat of Campbell coming on the back of a comprehensive stoppage triumph over Manchester's Anthony Crolla in April.

"He is so good, he adapts to any plans. Tonight was Lomachenko's night, and my time will come".

I hope Lomachenko doesn't go too many weights above because he's short for a lightweight as it is.

Lomachenko hesitated when asked if he would fight again before facing the Commey-Lopez victor.

Veteran matchmaker Arum has more than half a century of experience in the sport and ranks Lomachenko among the very best he has worked alongside.
