Graham's counter-attack on the House's impeachment inquiry came after days of pressure from top Trump allies including Donald Trump Jr. for Graham to act.

The South Carolina Republican's offer comes as Giuliani appears poised to defy a subpoena to provide documents to the Democrat-led House Intelligence Committee.

"Given the House of Representatives' behavior, it is time for the Senate to inquire about corruption and other improprieties involving Ukraine", the senator tweeted.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsay Graham, a fellow Republican, said on Tuesday he would invite Giuliani to testify before his committee.

"Democratic members have plenty of questions for Mr. Giuliani and this would give us an opportunity to help separate fact from fiction for the American people", Senator Dianne Feinstein, the committee's top Democrat, said in a statement.

But Giuliani, who for months has been promoting unsubstantiated claims that Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden were mired in corrupt dealings in Ukraine, was himself recently named as a possible co-conspirator in an alleged "shakedown" of a Ukrainian gas company, according to a report from The Associated Press.

Despite being hailed a hero by local authorities, Nicole said she still feels "like I've done something wrong". "It's devastating. The teen reportedly told his mother that the journal entries were simply creative writing, and not an actual plot.

"The position I'm stating is now the position of the administration", Giuliani added.

"I don't want to turn the Senate into a circus", Graham added. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., said in late September. He did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The former New York City mayor referred a soon-to-be-released letter that the Trump administration has sent to Congress regarding the legitimacy of the impeachment inquiry. However, "there are a lot of legal issues to consider", he noted. The whistleblower's complaint also said Giuliani was a "central figure" in Trump's attempt to get a Ukrainian investigation into the Bidens, and Giuliani has conceded that he pushed Ukrainian officials to do as such. President Trump in a July 25 call repeatedly asks Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to contact Giuliani and seeks an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter. "We'll challenge the contempt", Giuliani said. There was widespread criticism of Shokin from several high-profile worldwide leaders, including members of the European Union and global Monetary Fund, who said Biden's recommendation was well justified.

Giuliani has shown that live testimony isn't the best medium for him to appear, given several startling interviews over the past few weeks.

Graham did not make any reference to his committee investigating a whistle-blower's allegations that President Trump abused his office by pushing the Ukrainians to investigate a political opponent.

Graham has also stated on Fox News that the identity of the whistleblower should be made known.
