'Jesus shoes' filled with holy water sell out in one minute

Jesus Shoes sold out on the day they went to market

MSCHF told Fox News that the shoes were originally pairs of all-white Nike Air Max 97s that were redesigned.

The new "Jesus Shoes" went on sale for $1,425 Tuesday and sold for that price within a minute, Greenberg said.

A limited-edition sneaker filled with holy water from the Jordan River in the soles and blessed by a priest sold out within minutes after its debut.

More controversially still, the shoes feature a single drop of blood created to represent the blood of Jesus Christ, himself.

'Don't let the flu get to you', advises HSE
People with severe, life-threatening allergies to the flu vaccine or any ingredient in the vaccine should also not get the shot. Distribution and production delays from manufacturers have caused some uncertainty when it comes to this year's flu season .

In addition, the sneakers were adorned with a miniature crucifix intertwined with the laces, frankincense scented insoles and a single drop of blood on the tongue to symbolize Jesus. The shoebox also displays an angel and a seal resembling the official papal seal. Now, we only have a passing knowledge of the bible from school RE lessons, but seem to remember something about Jesus getting angry once in a marketplace over profiteering?

The company then followed the tried and tested practices of so many past fashion collaborations by generating interest and intrigue in their launch through celebrities and influencers, sending just a few pairs out to high-profile social media users ahead of the public release. Nike say it has nothing to do with the 'Jesus shoes.' MSCHF bought the sneakers at retail prices and added the "godly" frills itself.

Although most of us probably can't afford $4,500 sneakers, the MSCHF website also has a number of free drops for you to take advantage of.

Nike, which is in no way affiliated with "Jesus Shoes", did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
