Rangers trade Vladislav Namestnikov to Senators

The Rangers traded the Russian forward to the Senators in exchange for AHL defenseman Nick Ebert and a fourth-round pick in 2021. The Rangers reportedly retaining $750,000 of salary in the deal.

Namestnikov, a 2011 first-round pick, recorded 11 goals and 31 points with NY last season.

Namestnikov has not recorded a point in two games with the Rangers but finished with 11 goals and 20 assists in 78 games for NY a year ago.

About 700 employees in its supplemental pension program, geared toward executives, will also have their pension benefits frozen. The company said it will also be freeze supplementary benefits for about 700 U.S. employees who became executives before 2011.

In 362 career National Hockey League games, the 26-year-old has 66 goals and 92 assists.

The Livingston, New Jersey native was originally selected by the Los Angeles Kings with the final pick of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft (seventh round, 211th overall). He's spent the last two seasons playing for HC Slovan Bratislava of the Kontinental Hockey League and Orebro HK of the Swedish Hockey League.

Ebert has played one game for the Belleville Senators this season.
