GOP Sen. Susan Collins: Donald Trump's remarks 'completely inappropriate'

US President Donald Trump attacked House Speaker and top Democrat Nancy Pelosi on Sunday saying she could be guilty of treason.

The conservative nonprofit group Tea Party Patriots Action sent a letter Tuesday to the Office of Congressional Ethics demanding that it investigate whether House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., violated House rules in his pursuit of the impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

ABC News has learned that the two-page memo, written by the whistleblower a day after Trump's call, suggests that at least one close aide to the president feared that Trump's own words in the call were damning.

"I guess that means that they, along with all of those that evilly "Colluded" with them, must all be immediately Impeached!", Trump concluded.

The whistle-blower's complaint claimed that Trump was "using the power of his office to solicit interference from a foreign country" in the 2020 US election given that Biden is perceived as a possible Democratic candidate to face the incumbent Republican president. "I think the House frankly rushed to impeachment assuming certain things" he said.

At the heart of the controversy is a July 25 phone call Trump had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during which Trump repeatedly pressured Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son on suspicion of corruption. That didn't stop Trump from also demanding on Saturday that Sen.

Robert Downey Jr. responds to Martin Scorsese's comments about 'Marvel' movies
In his mind, Martin Scorsese , like anyone else, is entitled to his opinion and that extends to Marvel and superhero movies. Disney has high hopes for Avengers: Endgame at the Oscars , but Robert Downey Jr . isn't suggested for a nomination.

The Democrats insist that the phone call provides evidence that Trump had used his presidential power to solicit foreign interference in the U.S. 2020 presidential elections.

Portman also said Monday that the impeachment inquiry and the significant attention it's attracting mean "it's going to be even harder" to move bipartisan legislation through Congress.

Zaid didn't clarify whether the second whistleblower has filed a formal complaint, revealing only that he or she has spoken with Atkinson.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy officially endorsed a potential censure measure against Rep. Adam Schiff last week; backing the resolution following Schiff's botched hearing on the President's phone call with the leader of Ukraine.

Trump's attacks late Sunday came shortly after reports emerged of a second whistleblower said to have firsthand knowledge of some of the allegations detailed in the original complaint.

The staff of the committee told the whistleblower to reach out to the intelligence community inspector general and seek legal counsel, according to a statement from Patrick Boland, a spokesman for Schiff.
