The popular show has been running for a decade, entertaining fans around the world but British fans who have clearly enjoyed the show will just have to wait a little longer for the second series.

Kate Phillips, controller for entertainment commissioning, added: "The response to the current United Kingdom series has been nothing short of dragulous; our viewers have really taken the show and the fantastic queens to their hearts".

The new eight-part season was commissioned by BBC Three controller Fiona Campbell and Kate Phillips, the BBC's entertainment chief.
