Bengals’ A.J. Green out indefinitely after setback

"I do think he'll play on Sunday", Taylor told reporters. The coach didn't want to speculate on the receiver's status for this weekend.

After missing the first eight games of the season for the Bengals, it looks like A.J. Green's 2019 debut is going to be delayed at least one more week, and in the worst scenario, it might not ever happen.

Green said the swelling wasn't as severe as it was a couple of weeks ago. "I just take it day-by-day". "He's adding to a great group".

Oddly enough, just after the coach confirmed to the media that the seven-time pro bowl wide receiver would be full-go in practice and on the field for Week 10, The Athletic reported that Green was not at practice.

The Bengals were hopeful that Green would be ready after the bye week.

Green suffered the ankle injury back at the beginning of training camp.

"I think he's been making great progress", Taylor said. "I'm not really anxious about that situation". After he aggravated the toe injury last season, he was hesitant about returning from the ankle injury too early. Green likely has few, if any, games left in a Bengals uniform as he is in the final year of his contract. The receiver said negotiations between himself and Cincinnati's front office slowed down while he was recovering from injury.

Green, the fourth-overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, has averaged 75 receptions and 1,113 yards per season during his eight-year career.
