Former Karnataka Ranji players CM Gautam and Abrar Kazi have been arrested on charges of spot-fixing in the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) final earlier this year. Bellary team captain CM Gautum and Abrar Kazi arrested. "Also, they fixed another match against Bengaluru team", an investigation officer said.

Gautam and Kazi represented the Bellary Tuskers in the league.

Before Gautam and Kazi too, the police had made a number of arrests.

CM Gautham has played in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore. The arrest of the duo came a day after the Police arrested another KPL player Nishant Shekhawat of Bengaluru Blasters squad during the tournament held early this year. Kazi had also played one match for RCB in 2011. The website also claimed that Kazi was with his Mizoram teammates and recently left them to visit Bengaluru. "The probe will continue as we suspect there are some more to be involved in the case", he added. The report claimed that police is likely to arrest even more culprits.

"We have already written to the BCCI about our Association's decision to sack Gautam", Phadke also said.

About an hour after that call, he said, Stone emailed Corsi that a friend of theirs living in London should see Assange. Then Zelinsky showed half a dozen mails and text message with Stone directly discussing Assange with different people.

The KPL fixing got here to limelight with the arrest of Ali Ashfaq Thara, who owned the Belagavi workforce. Giving him fifth over to bowl was the task his captain Gautam was assigned.

In the final, Gautam scored 29 off 37 balls when his Ballari were chasing 153 to win from 20 overs. Meanwhile, Kazi struck 13 off six deliveries. He made his debut against Uttar Pradesh in 2008 as a batsman before taking over the gloves from Thilak Naidu.

Gautam is a popular name in Karnataka cricket circles and was instrumental in helping the Karnataka Ranji cricket team win back-to-back domestic trebles in 2013-14 and 2014-15. Before moving to Goa this year, the 33-year old wicket-keeper batsman has played 94 First-class matches for his home state.

Ali had allegedly placed bets with a bookie based in Dubai and was in touch with players of other teams during the league.

While Gautam is a seasoned Karnataka cricketer, who has shifted to Goa this season, Qazi now plays for Mizoram.
